On August 20th, Firaxis Games, the creators of the Civilization series, released the Civilization VII official gameplay showcase. This newest entry into the famed 4X turn-based strategy series is slated for a February 11, 2025 release date.
Civilization VII Official Gameplay Showcase Now Available
The showcase is 25 minutes long and consists mostly of gameplay and commentary from the developers, including Sid Meier himself. Much of the presentation has been used to showcase new gameplay features, the highlight being the brand new “Ages” mechanic that will split the game into three different ages, each introducing their own unique units, resources, technologies, and buildings into the world as the game progresses.
Civilization VII is planned to launch on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox ONE, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, as well as be available for Mac and Linux. It is currently available for pre-order.
